Fast forward to Ricardo’s first short film, where on set he overheard the director say they were searching for a composer. It ignited something in him, so much so he jumped at the opportunity wholesale and committed everything he had in him to create his first piece “Longing”. In some mystical way, that piece transcended the film itself. It told a love story, but it also told his story; the story of a boy longing to prove himself to the Vancouver film world. Since that piece, he’s been challenging himself to give more to his music, to transcend the conventional parameters behind scoring and create pieces with love and intense attention to detail. To this day, he longs: longing to touch the lost, and those desperate to feel. The same infectious enthusiasm Ricardo brings to every conversation he brings to producing music, sound designing theatre, and composing films. Ricardo may not know what his future holds, but he’ll fill it with love, joy, and profoundly deep music emanating from his very own Vancouver studio.
